GERUNDS and INFINITIVES
Brain Games; See All; ProProfs.com. Gerund Vs Infinitive Gerund Vs Infinitive. Featured Quizzes. The Office Trivia Quiz! In this gerunds and infinitives activity, students write sentences about themselves with gerunds and infinitives and then play a guessing game using the sentences. Give each student a numbered worksheet. Students complete sentences 1 to 10 on their worksheet with ‘doing’ or ‘to do’, e.g. Something you enjoy doing in your free time. The infinitive form of 'learn' is 'to learn.' Both gerunds and infinitives can be used as the subject of a sentence. As the object of a sentence, gerunds and infinitives are usually not interchangeable. The gerund form must be used when a verb comes after a preposition. Some verbs require the infinitive after them; others require a gerund.
